Smile economy

Further to my earlier post, I have just finished 5 or so hours in the freezing cold going over this motor as per the advice recieved. The one and only sensor I can find was removed and cleaned, all hoses were removed and inspected, cleaned and refitted...both those attached to the intercooler were dry and clean inside with no visible splits or damage anywhere. Minor splits were found on each end of the small hose going from the crankcase breather to the air intake hose so I taped and clamped these until I can get to a garage and buy a new hose...everyone closed for Xmas!!

Put it all back together, warmed her up and went for a 30 k test drive...consumption back to 10 l/100..slightly better, but not a lot. Will have to take it in early for the next service to get new filters, oil and the new serpentine belt. Hope this helps.

Anyway, I have followed your valued advice and things have improved somewhat, so I thank you for your trouble.

Default cold??

Hi goldy

that's just cooling down...last winter we got to minus 21!! Both the Nissan and the Jeep start really easily when it's that cool...might be the difference between the European and Oz models.

Default Wot o'clock?

Clocks are very expensive over here , so not many ppl have them, which is quite handy really...you get to choose when it's beer o 'clock, plonk o'clock or any old booze o 'clock and no-one will argue.

Default Mnual for the 2.5CRD

For those who may have an interest, I finally tracked down a very detailed manual and parts list etc for the 2.5CRD. Came as a pdf type thingy which is pretty big and takes a while to download. Also includes a dedicated manual covering all things 02 and 03 KJ.

It might be helpful to tell people where you tracked it down, so they can look in the same place!
