Unhappy Inertia real Seat Belt replaced under warranty

Is this a know problem ?

Driving home Monday and the seat belt would not let go. It felt like the car was on a hill and everything locked up. The belt would not move. It would retract O.K but would not release. Not matter what I did i.e park on a flat surface etc it would not release at all.

The seat belt jams.
My car is at the stealer so it is all warranty work.
But it should not happen.

Just got the car back.
I was told it was a faulty assembly.
Did not cost me anything so I was not fussed.
Lucky the seat belt did not jam far from home.

Must be CRAP quality though.
My Suzuki (which I had for 10 years) did not have any issues like this

Consider yourself lucky. The same thing happened to me in April. I called the stealership - they have to order the part from Germany. 4 weeks later they call me: the part has arrived. I go there... only to find out that they ordered the wrong thing. Since then I have been waiting.
If not for the fact that I work at a car company and could borrow a seatbelt assembly from work, my JK would have spent last 3 months in the garage, being unroadworthy. And that's under warranty.

Every one of my seatbelts have had that issue or the other on - just popping out randomly when you think it is locked in.
Not happy with these belts

From the replies, I get the feeling it is a known problem.
Maybe Chrysler should use another manufacture of the sent belt assembly.

Apprently, the belt is also linked in with the air bag system.
There is some explosive part that locks the belt in case of a colision if the airbags have gone off.

Hopefully, the 2010 models are more relaible.
