Transfer shifter
Hi all
We've got a 2011 Jku
Wife just called me and said she'd tried to engage 4H and she has felt something go in the transfer case.
The 4wd shifter has gone all sloppy and now can't select 2wd, 4H or 4L.
Now stuck with no drive at all.
Any one else experience this?
Are we going to need to call a tow?
I'm oversees at the moment she is in Mt Cotton.
Cheers

There is a pin that should be put back in its spot or replaced. You probably have got to remove the centre console

Thanks for that. Appears someone may be able to hold it in place Justin underneath just to get it into 2H for the trip home. Cheers

Wife managed to crawl underneath the car and fix it herself. Got herself home no problem.

Probably the cable came off the lower end of the transfer case. I had this happen to me a couple of years ago when a little plastic clip failed and the end of the shift cable popped off the transfer case.. Had to buy 4 of the clips to fix a 1 clip problem as the dealer "wasn't able to purchase them individually". $5 per clip, I still have a few left if you're after one. It will fit in a standard envelope I'd reckon. yellow/orange colour.

More like 'It's a specialty item that I have to order in, so I'm going to charge you extra so I can keep some in stock'. Bastards.
