Oh good, it's still going.

The easy way I've found to work with the Stauns is to set two to your higher offroad pressure, and two to a sand travel pressure. By the time you screw in one side (front and rear, or both rear etc.) and start the process of letting the tyres down, you can shotgun half a coldie, then change the Stauns to the other side and start them up again. By the time you've finished your beverage, you're evenly deflated and ready to go.

Nice resurrection

Someone earlier mentioned 30 seconds to deflate a tire with the Stauns - maybe a 29in tyre going from 35 down to 30 PSI... Since a Staun only presses the valve in, press your valve in to see how long it takes to drop from road to sand pressure. On my vehicle this is approx 4 minutes (285/70 17's dropping from 32 to 18 PSI). On the Currie deflator I can drop the same amount is approx 45 seconds per tyre plus another 15 or so seconds to attach and detach. So time wise over all they are pretty much the same.

However - I also know every time that the pressure is spot on and has not changed on one device from bouncing around in the glovebox, and if there is particularly soft sand up ahead I can drop another 2 or 3 or 5 ( or whatever I want) PSI easily and uniformly across all 4 tyres. Much moire flexible than one set pressure.

If anyone is interested Road Runner Offroad sell them from $49 with free delivery (Kakadoo= $49, Currie= $59.95, ARB = $69. All exactly the same barring the logo on the dial face...)

yes the stauns are a set pressure, however half a turn on the thread either way and it will change it by 3psi up or down. also I leave my spare set to the psi that I use for beach driving and it takes me about 2mins to check that they are set correctly every few weeks.

Staun deflators are very popular........ ask anyone - they are bound to have a set somewhere at home.

I got rid of mine gave them away, found them a pain in the ass to use as they kept deflating to different pressures than what I had set, moved to a quick tyre deflator that removes the valve, much nice to use and faster.
