Default Air con woes!

Well turned the air con on today on the way home and get NO air through the normal air vents, only the defroster vents. The air is nice and cool as normal but I want the air con on me and the cook when travelling. Tried switching to all positions to no avail. Thank god it happenned "after" the heat wave.

any help appreciated.

Cheers

happened to me once, but it came good of its own accord. with a bit of luck yours will too. you can poke around under the dash i think the vents controls are vacuum operated maybe a hose or a vacuum diaphram has split.

there is a little elbow on the intake manifold that attaches to a vacuum line that sometimes comes off on mine and it does exactly that ,could be your prob.

Agree. Almost certain a vacuum problem. Vent controls are vacuum controlled and any loss of vacuum means they don't work. Should be an easy fix too

your cruise control want be working either if the vaccuum line has come off the manifold or split.

Well once again thanks to this great Jeep forum, both problems have now been solved, thanks to you people out there. A small vacuum outlet from the inlet manifold that could not be seen under the conglomeration of hoses etc. was the culprit. New hose, 5minute fix, air con back to normal, and idles good on LPG.

Thanks all
