Default Grinding noise

I have a grinding noise which only comes on once in a while on the front driver side wheel and only when turning left. Sounds like when the brakes a worn and rubbing on the rotor.
I THOUGHT it was the ESP, however after a drive on some gravel roads this weekend I am pretty sure it isn't. The ESP cut in and it was like a power cut and braking without the sound.
Anyone have any thoughts/ similar experience, or is the ESP supposed to sound like this????

Default noise

Hey,

I had a similar noise come from my Unlimited CRD on the weekend taking a hard left at about 50kmph, I just figured it was a tyre scrub or something?? Maybe it was the ESP kicking in?

I did take it offroad for the first time this weekend and whilst it doesn't have the same sort of wheel travel as my GQ (yet) I found the traction control to be really good - pulled me out of a couple of situations where I had only 2 wheels on the ground - just needed a bit of throttle and a bit of steering action

One thing I did do before taking it offroad though was to unscrew the rear mudflaps which I recommend everyone does before ripping them off!

Default grind

Thanks for that - it seems quite a few people have had similar experiences in the states.....

I'm off to QLD on Thursday in my Jeep so will listen very carefully especially through some of the fast sweepers on the Pacific Hwy!

My noise occurred on a hard left and I'm pretty sure I was braking at the same time as I realised that although my WRX used to go round that familier corner at that speed doesn't mean the Jeep wil So maybe it was the ESP telling me to cool it....

I must say that the Jeep does a helluvalot more than the WRX did - can't ya tell i'm a converted man (read family man now)

Thanks for that Jbee. Lots of frustration in that thread. Will have a hard time replicating if i take it to the dealer. Will sit on it for a while and see if it gets worse
