Like mine, if the spring slackens or the belt stretches there is not enough preload against the spring and it will vibrate. The only question is, do I fork out $250 for a whole kit or $60 for the belt. I need to replace the O'ring in the charge air line - pre silencer as oil has been also dripping on the belt which can't be good for it. But eitherway, I will be removing it when I change the belt so I can get better access to the pullies to check everything. I have just reached 170,000klms and a lot of original parts don't last too much longer. I recall mums Falcon around the same mileage. We were under that car for a while changing out bearings, joints bushes, pullies etc.
Did you change your harmonic balancer due to the movement? Is yours making a knocking/tapping noise also? Cheers Bloke

Not yet. There's so many things to change that I am attending to them via priority - (mortgage life sucks).
● I just changed rear shocks (safety).
● Next will be the accessories belt and charge air line o'ring (checking and documenting H/balancer, pullies/tensioner condition)
● After that, suspension balljoints, rubbers and bushes.
● Then finally add an oil catch-can and change the Fuelmanager prefilter. By then it will be time for next vehicle service as well. I had hopes of spending money on mods but a whole heap of maintenance has become apparent.

I get a rattle when applying throttle and typically hear a fluttering noise which is my tensioner oscillating back and fourth.

I have just started hearing that... thought was a water pump bearing. But thanks. Just extended my maintenance list.

Hi guys
I been having a bit of trouble with my ignition , when you try to start nothing happens no crank no nothing, then try again and it goes as per normal . Sometime no issues at all and sometimes I may have to try 3 times before anything.
Does anyone know of this or what the issues might be, I have thought about pulling ignition out and trying to clean it .
Any ideas cheers
