Accelerated wear on one tyre ..... not sure that's the tyres fault.

Hi,

Not just the one, the other rear tyre as well. Just the left rear was actually borderline on unroadworthy. Plus the front are wearing pretty fast.

Not sure what else we could do - rotate religiously at 5000km, alignment and balance before every 10,000km. Airbags on the rear. well loaded van.....
Perhaps we should have rotated the rear to the front every 2000km. That's not what Bridgestone recommended in their little orange book!

Neither of those rear tyres should wear that quickly in A/T, L/T.

We got more than 37,000km out of the original Yoko H/Ts!!

Cheers,
Sally

AT/LT tyres generally tend to last a while, but it's not technically because of their tread pattern or carcass construction.

Uneven tyre wear means something is wrong. I would be guessing obviously what, but something is wrong. Even if that something is that you live in Canberra.

I think snakey is referring to the number of roundabouts in the ACT. I'm regularly told tyres wear more on one side due to the fact there are roundabouts every ten feet. Or so the story goes.

I really noticed this effect on my WG when living at the Cairns Northern Beaches where there were a number of high speed round abouts into and out of town every day on my travels.

Like Buffomarinus I have the Hankooks and I am very pleased with them. I recently did a 7000 KM trip mostly on dirt and and towing a 3.3T van and was impressed with the performance.
