Smile Advice for a newbie

Hi all,

I've just joined up as I'm hoping to get some good advice and feedback from the Jeep community here in Australia.

My partner and I are looking to purchase our first Jeep in the not too distant future. We're looking at the Wrangler Sport, 2 door. I've been doing quite a bit of research in to things and I think a Wrangler would be the best bet for the type of stuff we'd be looking at doing. Something I haven't been able to figure out and to be honest I'm a bit intrigued by this, why is it so hard to come across Wrangler Sport's in diesel? I was under the impression that in the 4x4 world diesel was generally the preferred option regardless of car make? Please keep in mind I'm very new to the world of Jeeps so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Happy to hear advice and opinions on all things Wrangler from when you first got in to the Jeep game also!

Thanks

We did the sums when we bought our JKU in 2011, worked out you would need to do 500,000KM to recoup the extra cost of the diesel in fuel savings so we bought the petrol.

Regards,
Tote
