Default GDE Tune or Similar for 2.7CRD

Did the search and surprisingly came up empty, surely someone has discussed this somewhere, or my search abilities suck.

So, according to GDE they do a tune for the Mercedes 2.7 Sprinter, see here; http://www.greendieselengineering.co...ne/2_36.action Murchison have nothing listed for the WG. Has anyone done a flash tune for their 2.7CRD WG? Any reason the Sprinter tune would not work on the WG?

Next question is the benefit of such install. I saw a pretty good video review of the Roo Systems flash on a Toyota and the benefits seemed pretty good. See it here;

I've also got a KJ 2.5CRD and it seems pretty unanimous that the benefits are there. So interested to hear what's going on with the 2.7 in the way of flash tunes. Thanks.

So I emailed GDE last night and got a pretty quick response. They said that though it's a similar engine the software is different and as they never had the WG's in North America they have never developed a tune for it. So must look to local companies, or possibly UK/European companies if they got the same engine/software config.

Bummer.

Have you thought of one of the plug-in boxes? One of these: https://dieselchiptuning.com.au/prod...Chip%3C/div%3E

I don't like those power boxes because as far as I know they simply fool the ECU into thinking it has different parameters.

In UK and Europe there are plenty of people who can retune the WG CRD. Contact somebody and see if they can help with a remote retune.

Thanks for the replies gents. The chip boxes are certainly more economical to purchase and results seem similar to a remap but reviews all seem to favour the remap. In doing a more general Google search, the chip tunes show up a hell of a lot more.

Hi all, old topic, but I am interested to know if anyone has had any actual experiences/results to share about any particular plug in tuning boxes or full relay jobs on the 2.7l crd
