Default Choosing The Right Oil To Enhance Your Jeep's Performance

A Jeep is a special car, and Jeep owners know that it matters what you put into your car to help keep it in good condition and to enhance its performance. There’s plenty of ways that the right oil can push your car and keep it healthy. The right oil can quiet down noisy components help keep your Jeep at top performance during the dead of winter or simply just keep everything running smoothly.

So here’s a short guide to help you choose the right oil or oil additive for your Jeep.

Check the components of your oil or additive
When you look at the ingredients of your oil you may find out that it is full of confusing chemical terms that you know nothing about. Well have no fear you don’t actually need a degree in chemistry to understand what your oil does for you. Here are two of the most common components you should watch out for in your motor oil. Zinc helps the performance of your engine overall and keeps all its components move slightly faster, although you have to make sure you don’t go overboard with it. Phosphorous is another great ingredient that helps prevent damage to your engine and its parts.

Watch out for lubrication and noise reduction
Jeeps are big cars and can often be noisy, it is not uncommon for parts like the lifter to start acting up and make more noise than you are comfortable with for your pleasant drive. So how do you pick the best oil or oil additives for noisy lifters?

You have to look at the lubrication that your oil or additive provide. Lubrication reduces the amount of friction that you experience meaning that not only does your car make less noise, it will also experience less damage and perform better. If you are specifically looking for lubrication that reduces noise look for an oil that forms protection against the metallic components of your car.

Look out for the MPG value
The best way to measure how much your new oil or oil additive will directly impact the performance of your car is to look for a higher MPG (Miles per gallon) value. This number will tell you how many miles per gallon the oil will add to your car’s performance. Jeeps are often pretty gas guzzling cars so any increase to your MPG should be a welcome addition, but there’s more to it than simply saving you a buck Oils with a high MPG value give you this boost by making your engine work more efficiently helping it in more ways than just reducing the cost of your visits to the gas station.

Is that it?
There is, of course, much more to your oil than these three factors, but this information should be enough to prepare you to get out there and find the best oil for your Jeep and help it perform just how you like it to. It is important to know what kind of oil to choose for your Jeep if you’d like it to perform the way it should, to its highest capacity.
