At this stage with this car and what I intend to use it for, I really don't want the expense of a dealer visit. I would be happy of someone was able to delete the sentry key function, but my googling hasn't given me much hope that it is possible at this point in time.

Happy to take a PM, of you think this info is not for the public domain either.

Regards,

Robert
Robert, i'll ask some buddies on our lockie forum who's the closest too you.

I'll PM you when I hear back.

The 5.7 unlocks & locks with the fob right? If so its not your keys that's the issue here, its the RFID rejecting/not talking to them.

This has happened to me & others here, The lock/unlock with the key in the ignition usually solves the communication issue BUT if too many attempts to start the car with this fault not resolved it will lock you out.

Give Jeeps R Us at Coffs Harbour a call, they will give you good advice & I'm sure they have a factory star scan as well.

Yes Clarky, the remotes lock and unlock the 5.7.

I'll give these guys a call and see what they say.

Spoke to Jeeps R Us - very helpful and friendly guy.

Suggested that the P41 ignition switch recall may have caused this, and that I may be able to remedy by removing the P41 installed part.

He also told me P41 is a bit of a disaster, so I don't think I'll be taking my CRD in when I get the offer.

Otherwise, sounding like I can get the keys and the control module reprogrammed/replaced without needing dealer input.

Cheers,

Robert

I've been having a play today with my Bluedriver scantool and have come up with a few things:

I can delete the codes for the key and wireless receiver faults, but have come up with a new one - U110D - Lost communication with security siren.

I have also come up with B212C - Active - Ignition Run/Start Input Circuit Open

I also find that the key you crank the ignition with will not lock or unlock the doors after an unsuccessful start - but the other key will still lock and unlock the doors.

If you swap keys and try to start with the other key, then the first key is now able to lock/unlock, but the second key wont!

Weird stuff...

Well, I got it to start AND run!!!

BUT...

The key that starts the engine won't lock or unlock the doors, but the other key will.

If I swap keys, the same thing happens - whatever key starts it will not unlock or lock the doors by remote UNLESS you've then used the other key to start the engine!!!

WTF???
