Now that its running you could try (with the key that starts it) the lock/unlock with the key in the ignition???

Clarky,

BOTH keys start it, but that one won't lock/unlock until the other key starts it.

So I can do that, but I don't know if I should be putting in the key that will lock/unlock or not?

What key position do I put it in?

Gotta say, that HEMI sounds the boss!

Figure out which key starts the jeep, with the engine off but the ignition in the run position press the lock & then unlock on the key.

This preforms a hand shake with the system that hopefully solves your issue.
It works with keys that open the locks but engine keeps shutting down because the key is not recognised.

Even though your problem is different hopefully it resolves your issue.

If I could live with the fuel bill (& fines) I would love a HEMI

I'll try that next weekend Clarky, I've put my good battery back in my CRD and knocked off for the evening.

Since I last posted, I have had dinner and a couple of drinks, then I went back into the shed and tried the remotes. BOTH keys locked and unlocked the Jeep! But, soon as I put one in the ignition and put it to run, neither key would lock or unlock!

I'm going back inside now for a couple more drinks!:

The remote locking function won't work with a key in the Ign in the run position.

Most vehicles are like this.

But it should work again after you remove it, right?

This is my issue, it works until it's been in the ignition and put to run. Once that key comes out, whether the car is started or not, it won't lock or unlock, until the other key is put to run. Then it works again.

Of course then the other key doesn't work!

The doors don't actually lock but if does communicate with the vehicle & gets the key working again. Have done it myself, after I changed out the battery in the fob & it has worked with others here also.
