Went digging in my favourites folder & found this, this is where I found how to get my key working again.
http://www.electronhacks.com/2012/10...-entry-remote/
there instruction for jeep
JEEP

1. Enter your Jeep and make sure all of the doors and the trunk are closed.

2. Put your key in the Jeep’s ignition and keep the key in the off position.

3. Open the driver’s door on the automobile and leave the door open.

4. Move the switch on the door to the lock position while the door is open.

5. Switch the key in the ignition two clicks to the right to the “On” position.

6. Press the lock button on your keyless remote for your Jeep and hold the button for 5 seconds. Release the button and remove the key from the ignition to complete the programming.

I'm trying that this weekend. Thanks.

I tell you, with 2 WH's it's getting confusing remembering what's wrong with each one!

Ok guys, I'm stumped.

Tried the key programming sequence to no avail. As soon as the key enters the ignition at thr run position, it's locked out of using the remotes entry.

But, at the very moment the key is locked out, the other key's remote entry is once again re-activated.

I get the SKIM light activating for a time while the ignition on run, as well as a flashing check engine light. The check engine light glows until the engine is started.

The other weird thing is there's no steering lock, and no noise when you insert the key to indicate it's working.

Another weird thing is the dinging sound you get when the driver's door is opened with the key in the ignition, still happens without the key inserted.

Sometimes the in dash stacker behaves like you've disconnected the battery and starts looking for discs, I'm yet isolate what makes this happen.

So, since I can't drive an unregistered car to Coffs Harbour, am I heading to a dealership?

I have 7 different dedicated programming & Scan tools for auto work.
as well as EEPROM equipment for writing key logics directly into immo boxs when all keys are lost, all the big brands Toyota, Mitsy, Nissan, VAG are no issue.
This is not a sales pitch, just educating members what auto lockies can do.

I know guys in, Forster, Port Mac, Wagga that may be able to help, not sure about Gosford though.

cheers
I've just responded to a post of yours in another thread. This one's more suitable I guess. One of my keys is working intermittently, more often not working than it is, the other one's working fine. Can this be fixed or a new key is required?
