Default Speedometer gear

Hey guys,

I'm looking at changing the speedo gear to match my 31" tyres. The diff ratio is 3.73 so I think that means I need a 33 teeth gear. Where is the cheapest place to get this (local or online is fine)? And do I need a short or long gear?

You need a short gear. I've no idea where you'd get one locally but there's a site in the US that does them for US$ 39. No idea what shipping would be though.

Do you know if your speedo is out?

I used to have 32" tyres and stock the speedo gear was still accurate.
I checked the speedo with a GPS and couldn't tell the difference.

I've changed my speedo gear when changing diff ratios - went to 4.10. I bought it on ebay; can't remember the price (I think $65 delivered?) but I just typed "short speedo gear jeep wrangler" or something like that. Then just choose the right size/tooth-count as per gear charts that are available also somewhere on this forum.
