Default Scan Codes Help Please

Hi Guys

I received my BlueDriver scan tool and have it all set up and working.

Did a full scan and came back with a couple of codes.

If anyone has any experience with these codes and some simple solutions to try, I would appreciate it.

Under All Wheel / Final Drive section
C1418 Stored - Front Differential Control Circuit High

Under Powertrain Control Module Section
P0471 Stored - Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance

Assuming this one is a faulty sensor, but have no idea where to even locate it LOL.

2007 CRD Laredo with 200100 odd kays.

Thanks for any assistance

Ben.

First of all clear the codes and see if they return. Low voltage can cause all sorts of wonderful codes on these Jeeps.
A stored code is just that, it is not current/active. Its just there to tell you it registered an issue but it went away.
There is only 1 sensor on a CRD's exhaust, the O2 sensor. It reads temp pressure and of course O2, if it was faulty you would have more codes.

C1418 this is related to the front Elsd.
3 possibilities in my mind

1- broken wire to the front diff. There is an electrical connector on the front diff, check that it is plugged in and there isn't a broken wire.

2- The front diff solenoid is open circuit (circuit high) and needs replacing.

3- The wiring loom inside the diff that connects the plug to the solenoid is broken and needs replacing.

The first one can be confirmed & fixed easily, just a visual inspection and repair a wire if needed. The other 2 are a diff out job. Well not out exactly, undo the 3 diff mounts and prop shaft (tail shaft), let the diff hang and you can remove the diff cover to access the solenoid and loom.
If you get to the point that you need to remove the diff cover then have these parts before you start, they are cheap enough and the job will be done there and then.

Thanks for the info.

I can check the wiring as you say. I saw a plug above the front diff when I had the skid plate off changing the oil. It did appear a bit dirty so fingers crossed it is that simple.

Cheers

Hi Again.

I am going out on the trails this weekend for some light wheeling, so expect to test the Low Range and will see if the C1418 code pops up again.

But last night the Traction and ESP lights came on. I had just done around 250km hwy drive and they came on 10 mins from home.

I ran the scanner again this afternoon and got U0415 Active: Invalid Data Received from Anit-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module.

I cleared the codes, turned the Jeep off, and restarted it, and ran it again and this time the same thing came up as Stored. Which is better than active.

From my reading this often refers to a wheel speed sensor not reading correctly or intermittently?

There is also a stored code C123F Steering Angle Sensor Comparative Performance. The Clock Spring was replaced so I thought this was from that, but I do believe it effects the ESP etc.

Again I will check the wiring and plugs for dirt etc, but are there any other possible reasons for this?

Cheers
Ben.
