Default P0302 code from rough idle CRD
Bugger! Just driven Melb to Adelaide as first leg of trip over the Simpson. Idle has felt slightly rough last two weeks ( after trip to Wilcannia over Easter).
Tonight CEL came on - plugged in scanner & P0302 code only shows. (Misfire cylinder 2).
Cleared code & has not returned.
Idle still sl rough, once off idle smooth running.
Normal performance & economy.
Any thoughts on possible cause appreciated.
I'll be seriously pissed to abort the trip but can't really risk remote travel with a potential reliability issue.
CRD 185,000 km, have no issues to speak of thus far & is meticulously serviced.

When did you last change your fuel filter? It sounds like you may have a slight air leak around the fuel head. If the filter is new, i would check that it is spun on tight, then bleed the head while pumping to evacuate any air.
Remember, with CRDs the two big factors are always: Air and Fuel, check them first.
Are you carrying a spare fuel filter?
