Don't know what year model the OP's JK is, but my 13 has Hella reflectors for the headlights so you probably aren't going to improve on that side of things.
I changed to Osram Nightbreakers - I bought them from a UK website that sells them at about just over half the Aussie retail price of similar style globes with free world wide postage. Quite acceptable for a budget upgrade.
