Default EVC/I Drive Throttle Controller fitment...

Xmas sales and with a good price I have ordered an EVC i Drive Throttle Controller for the Jeeperific ....

So to save this old fella ginning around in the footwell some help from someone who has fitted one into the location of the plug I need to find would be most helpful as the less time contorted looking for the damn thing the better..

Been procrastinating for ages about getting one as taking off from a damn intersection in a hurry is such a pain in the bum, the sudden launch is sometimes scary ................

True, true .................. Mind you it was pointed out that Santa got me a new phone and this car thing, I pointed out the I Drive was a maintenance item for the vehicle so not technically a pressie ............ ........ besides The Bride is fed up with launches from stop signs like a Saturn 5 rocket when there's a break in traffic, so she knows Im doing it for her ....

So have a good end of year bit Pete and with a new phone I might be able to answer the phone without it freeziing up, of course thats if I hear it........

Been keeping a distant eye on you lot, thought it time I contributed even being sans Jeep! Despite being stoked with my Skoda I still speak English, fortunately the car does too, could never get my tongue around Czech...

So Drover, top of the GO pedal, on your knees lean into the well and the plug is fairly easy to locate. Whip the connector out, plug the iDrive connector in, then the car's connector into that...well I know what I mean. Comes with instructions, but really simple mate. Enjoy your new iDrive, you're gonna have fun

Best wishes to you guys and Happy 2024.

hi Drover just a thought , when i installed mine i immediately got an error code in the car, i rang the supplier and they advised to un plug and replug, that fixed it

it seems with the wk2 that you really need to make sure the connectors are pushed home, i installed the controller to the right of the bonnet release and tucked the cables in behind the kick panel.

hope that helps some./

Thank you Gentlemen, I stuck my boof head into the footwell and spied the socket as described, even managed to unplug it without any thought of swearing ....... I am suss now, something will bound to cause drama when the thing turns up now...

Nice to see Skoda Scooter rider back for a visit as well...............

As others have said, it's a pretty easy plug and play job, if a bit finicky. I ran my wires along the side of the footwell, up through the steering column surround, and have stuck the controller on the dash between the wheel and the right air vent. Easy to access - not that I ever really touch it
