Default KK CRD fuel filter question

Hi. Trying to change fuel filter. Can't get quick fit fuel lines to open. Can I undo the lines at these bolts? I need the lines off to get the filter out to change it

Normally you leave the filter head in place and just replace the canister element. A strap wrench like many use for undoing oil filters is best. On the KJ there is an electrical connection on the bowl of the filter for the water sensor. That need to e unplugged before undoing the canister.

On the KK, the filter is within a sheath. The fuel lines need to be disconnected to remove the sheath and filter, to then access it to change it.

I took the plunge and unscrewed them. Got filter out of sheath - left the top line on ( it wasn't keen to come off) - placed filter upside down onto head studs to use as leverage to unscrew and change. Put it all back together again and ran the ignition 3 times to prime the new filter. Started first time after the prime. Previous filter was an original MOPAR part that had lasted at least 60,000 miles. Replacement used is a HENGST H159WK. £10.50 ebay.

Default KK CRD Fuel Filter(s)

Can I ask what year model this vehicle is please? I've read about that setup, but mine is completely different. Mine is a 2010 model KK. My dual fuel filter setup is the same as the Grand Cherokee WK2 3.0L 'EcoDiesel'.
