Do you have any pictures of your new trailer anywhere here?
Here you go:

Since these photos were taken last week, i have added some marine carpet, my spare wheel on the front and a MONSTER toolbox.

If you can afford the aluminium go for it! Just make sure if the chassis is aluminium it's reinforced as i heard many a story about aluminium trailor chassis' cracking, then you'd get it welded and then it'd crack next to the weld and so on etc...

Ahh, very nice.
I am going with the lockable "tradesman" style. It won't be as useful as yours for other around the house jobs, but it will be more secure.
I am currently chasing up some steel rims like yours.

Thanks for the pics. I will post some of mine when it comes together in the next 2 months.

Does that mean you've decided on one in particular BigT?

yes I think i will go for Aluminium for the box section.

Chassis (which already exists) is steel, and there will be a welded steel frame inside the aluminium skin

I just spent all this afternoon Sikaflexing up all the cracks and hiding spots that water/sand/salt/dust might get to. I also drilled some holes to mount my toolxbox once the Sikaflex is cured. Then, i shall start painting the underside with a coat or two of Bitumen paint

Tman you are asking for drama, go all steel or all alum, if you bolt an aluminium tub to a steel chassis, you will accelerate the erosion of the chassis.
If the Chassis is galvanised you might have a chance. OR You need top provide a sacrificial anode between the 2 different metals.
Rust is ELECTROLISIS elements reacting to other elements. Steel & Oxygen= rust.
In a reactive environment - Oxygen rich or SALT rich environment the most reactive metal will be corroded. If you build a trailer of 2 different metals, the more reactive of the 2 will take on ALL the corrosion.
Yr 8 Chemistry taught me this!

Sam, from the pics, you seem to have left a 6 x 4 hole in your sealing regime, can catch plenty of dust/water/sand/salt in there!
