Very handy info mate, thanks for the effort you've gone to. One thing that I do question though is the suitability of a silicone hose in that location with almost constant very high ambient temperatures. I reckon a stainless braided rubber hose would be a good alternative.

Did you replace the "one use only" high pressure fuel lines or were you able to use them again?
What actually is the backfire tube?

Thanks for your feedback Troutman.

I suppose it may be better, however, the silicon hose is rated at 160 degrees C, and the black fire shroud/sock is rated at 270 degrees C, which will aid in protecting the silicon hose from those temps.

Time will tell.......

Cheers

Ed

Hi johnnywal

No, did not replace the fuel lines. No weeping or dripping so far. Will monitor those. They are relatively easy to get to if one or more needs to be replaced.

The Black fire shroud/sleeve is high temp rated which insulates the silicon hose from high temps. It forms a protective barrier in areas of extreme heat. Made up of high bulk braided fibreglass sleeving coated with a
custom compounded black silicone rubber to protect
and extend the life of hoses, cables and wires.
Working Temp: 260°C (Short term exposure at 1300°C).

Hope this helps!!

Cheers

Ed
