Finally got the trans back in the jeep today. All the oil leaks are gone !!
Took it for a run & came home intending to change the oil & filter. Cant find my spare oil filter!! So will have to get another tomorrow & finish the oil change then.

Yesterday I replaced the rear brake flex line with a longer, braided one. Bit of a PITA as I had to shift the aux tank to get to the bracket. Because I was on my own I could not do up one of the bolts on the aux firm so had to go with a lock nut until I can get help holding the bolt head underneath the carpet, inside the cabin.

Regards A

So far today I have painted the chassis braces with underbody deadener/rust preventative paint then removed the old leaking steering box along with the front sway bar and the front bash plate, these all need to be removed to allow the fitment of the steering box brace.
Found a small crack in a different spot to all the other ones I have seen, right up the top above the front steering box bolt under the radiator, then found that the outside plates are wrong, I didn't allow for the sheetmetal brace that goes from the chassis rail to the front guard.
I have fitted the replacement box (what a fun job!!) with its plate in behind it.
After lunch I need to fit the steering box brace then mod the outside plates, to fit these I need to remove the bullbar and take out the shims and then refit.
I also plan to fit a replacement steering damper.

Will be a busy afternoon plus they are forecasting yet more storm.... Queensland in the summer...

About to order a huuuuge load from RockAuto to celebrate the end of my university degree last week.

Then some busy weekends ahead with new hubs, front pinion seal, passenger engine mount, O2 sensors, ZJ clutch fan, dizzy, spark plugs and leaf spring bushings (going to try Moog brand, fingers crossed these dont crack in 5k like the Omix ones...)
