Default MJOC September 2009 Members Meeting

Reminder: September Members Meeting
Tuesday 29th September

Just a brief reminder that we are only a few days away from out next club member’s meeting which will be held on:

Tuesday 29th September at 7:30pm (Light Dinner from 7.00pm)
FWDV headquarters, RSL Hall, Centreway, Greythorn Shopping Centre
Doncaster Rd, Nth Balwyn (Melways Ref 46 G2)

It is shaping up to be a great meeting with practical tips on tyre maintenance, an update on the Jambo, recent trip reports from a busy month and the launch of the first product from our new range of club apparel. Looking forward to seeing plenty of members in attendance.

Note: Prospective members are always welcome

Practical Demonstration - Tyre Tips

Ken Dunnachie and Rohan Dodd will demonstrate tyre maintenance and temporary tyre repair techniques. This will include how to break the bead of a tyre to remove bark and mud etc, clean the inside edge of the wheel rim and reseat the tyre on the rim using "tyre pliers" and an air compressor. The temporary tyre repair demonstration will utilize the steel insertion needle and repair cord technique, which doesn’t require the removal of the tyre from the vehicle.

National Jeep Jamboree Victoria 2010 Update

Brett Dashwood will be providing an update on the Jambo including a run through of the recent presentation to Chrysler Australia, which has locked them in as a key partner for the event.

Recent Trip Reports

Trip reports, pictures and videos from past month including;
  • Annual Neerim Nasty
  • LROCV Trials Day
  • Goulburn Valley 4WD Club's MUDDAKHANA
  • Strathbogie - MJOC's Operations Manager Trip of the Month
  • Basic Driver Training

New Range of MJOC Gear

Brett Dashwood in his new role as PR Officer, has organized the first item of our new range of MJOC Gear.

The new MJOC cap will be on sale for only $20. It is navy blue with an embroidered club logo on the front and the WE GET ‘EM DIRTY slogan and web address on the back… comes complete with dual 4WD trye treads. To view a picture of the new cap visit the Shop on the MJOC website.

In order to be able to have the caps made in a short timeframe we only ordered a small run of 50, so if you want one, they’ll be available at the meeting on Tuesday. FYI, we hope to have a shirt of some kind sorted out over the next month or so too.

I look forward to seeing you at the meeting on Tuesday!

It 's pretty handy when the bead is worse for wear but there are a couple of tricks to it
