Ok was really excited about the possibility of some range out of these remotes so pulled off the LH door trim, removed the unit which is combined with the switches and pulled it apart.
Heres 2 photos of the inside of the unit. Cant see any antenna sign but the board with the switches has "DATA" printed on it. Circled in yellow in the close up. I wonder if this is where the wire needs to be soldered?
FYI I have a 2001 Grand.
If no-one has any joy I will try soldering a wire to this point and see if it makes any difference...

might be written on the flip side of the board. Can you pull them out of the plastic? or is that a bad idea.

It would be great to get someone with a later model grand to confirm where the antenna connects to on theirs......

I know - I'm dreamin!

that's a bugger, i kept my old unit for a couple of years and only threw it out about a week ago!!!! Could've experimented on it freely

Tried pulling it out of the plastic but those big black dots are holding the PCB in as well. Looks like melted plastic to hold the boards on so would rather not trash them.

Would be awesome if someone could confirm where their wire runs to on a later model Grand. I'm happy to be the Guinea Pig and solder it to mine and see if it works?

Hey boost - when were you thinking of trying this? If I didn't hear anything by Saturday I was going to pull mine out and have a look.

Would be great to hear from somone on this!
