The website that silycr mentioned for the software has alot of information on the WJ jeeps that you can read including a list of error codes

JeepHawk, do you get the MIL on intermittently as well? I had forgotten to add previously that these codes have existed since I bought the Jeep a month or two ago, but the MIL is a new addition.
I went out over the weekend for my first serious 4wd adventure in 25 years and had it up to the top of the bumper in muddy/silty water. The water was over the lower door sills yet only about a teaspoon leaked in - great seals! Great mates too, who didn't make me open the door to get out and help. I was stuck there for about 15 minutes until I got snatched out (hung up on the high crown and left a nice croc slide on the way out). Long story - it just looked like a small puddle on a flat track! It wasn't. Other than this, the old stock girl did as well as much newer relatively stock 'luxes and BT50's, but not quite as well as a modded Prado of similar age.
Anyhow, back on topic, I'm wondering if silty water has gotten somewhere it shouldn't have.
I'l read up on this switch on the transfer case, but it sounds like it's fairly common error code. Does anybody know what it actually does, or what is the consequence of it not working?
