I just bought new black Alloys from the USA as a Xmas present for the faithful old Commander. A lot of research was done to get the best off set & back spacing. 17 x 8.5 They fit perfectly with no rubbing. The track is now 2.5" wider which give the car a bold stance and the black alloys and tyres gives the Commander a little bit of a mean look and not so much like a Mum's shopping trolley anymore.

They look great Multihull!! Nice work. Do you have some photos from the front/rear to show where they sit in relation to the guards and also the wider stance?

I assume that these are +25mm offset and 5.75" backspacing the same as the AEV Pintlers?

Do you mind sharing where you got them from and the cost including shipping to Aus?

I will post more pics and details once I'm back home in a few days. The wheels are just within the guards so they're legal too.

Nice. Looking forward to it. Not many wheels out there that suit the Commander/WH Grand unfortunately.

I bought the alloy rims from SD Wheel Corp in the USA. They arrived after about 10 days via UPS.
The specification on the rims I bought are
17" x 8.5"
Offset: 25mm
Stud bolt pattern: 5x5
Price each: US$159

Here's a link they sent me with a list of black Alloys with similar "off sets & back spacing": http://quotes.sdwheelcorp.com/quote.php?quote=86224

Thanks Multihull!

That's a great price for alloy wheels that are perfectly suited to the car. They are the same backspacing and offset as the AEV wheels which is good as they are proven to work offroad.

Looks like I know where I will be getting some upgrade rims for my (future) Commander from.

Don't forget to check the hub bore, as well as the offset.
