Just wondering about the life span of the water pumps in our wk2 diesels.
My car has done 180,000km and still the original. Went and saw an overland that had done 260,000km and checked with the service people who had serviced it from new and it was still on the original water pump.
Had 195,000 km on my last one and was still fine...
that is good km’s out of a water pump.
I dare say the aftermarket ones wont last that long.
I think the factory ones were an Italian brand , Valeri, as i recollect.

Agree.....the water pumps dont seem to come up as an issue....must be a good piece of engineering....not to many breeds with that sort of mileage without a 'change out'
