removed the drive shafts and replaced all 6 unis with greasable ones. Now to remember to grease them occasionally.

$100 is pretty good is it just the pump or whole assembly?
I priced up a Bosch pump for $120 and whole assembly for $170 (shipped, rockauto.com). Works out cheaper when combining shipping though.

It's a GME model in black. I got it from a local specialist car audio store (PMR). I'd say anywhere that stocks UHF units would have one too. The dude reckons some people even use a UHF too.

Before u go yanking out the stereo to replace, mine had a short piece of coax with a plug running to just under/ behind the OBD port. The factory aerial cable plugged into this so it's easy to change without taking the dash apart. (I took mine out wanting an uninterrupted cable. Shame that while taking a break overnight I moved the jeep, ran over the cable that was still loose from the bullbar end and snapped the cable meaning I had to join it anyway. Still works well)

installed the long range and was about to test it when I found out that the last owner who had the aux installed done a dodgy wiring setup.

Now I have to re-install the pump with new wiring. Going to fab something up as I have most of the gear to do it.

Jeep is now off the road for a week or 2.
If this doesn't work, I'm going to rage and scrap this XJ and buy a post update.

PS. if anyone is after a dickie seat for the rear of the XJ, I found one in chipping norton @ Young auto dismantlers.

Got the steering damper fitted. Ive had it off since I bought it 2 years ago and blow me what a difference!
It's lie driving a normal car now and way less scary to drive!
It's fitted with 2 relocation brackets from Wooders and between the trackbar and panhard? Rather than diff end to panhard.
Just a great driving feel. Steering is slower but way less twitchy with the 33s on. Nice.

Having gone to 31's with a 3 inch lift, and experiencing that steering "twitchiness" myself, is it worth going to a "return to centre" steering damper?

Do they make enough of a difference to justify the cost?
