Had to laugh, rear recoverpoint on a WK SRT8 at work today. It'd pull the other vehicle into next week!

No the engineer doesn't test the vehicle mount point. Jeep claims the frame mounting points can handle 1.5 GVWR or approximately 4500kg. I would definitely recommend using an equaliser strap for any difficult recoveries. While the mounting points may not give way, the WK2 is a unit-body vehicle and they are prone to twisting and bending under extreme strain.

Cheers,
Bill

That's pretty much the idea Paul. Our Recovery Hooks rated at 2500kg SWL should satisfy most people if used with an equaliser strap. Open hooks are an inherently weak design, so we closed the loop for those that want something stronger to reach the maximum rating Jeep claims the frame can handle. Our 4500kg SWL Recovery Points are for everyone that wants the very best.

Surprisingly many recovery hook ratings are MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength), which we thought was a bit irresponsible. Ours are rated to the SWL (Safe Working Load) meaning the MBS is 3 times the rated load.

Cheers,
Bill

I had the engineer do some 3D renderings for me so everyone could get a sneak peak. The manufacturer is currently working on the prototype and pricing. I'm hoping to have more information for everyone very soon.

WK2 Recovery Hooks - Front (pair)
2500kg SWL (Safe Working Load) Engineer Certified
7500kg MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) Engineer Certified

WK2 Recovery Points - Front (pair)
