Default Where to go around Boonah????

My friends and I are going water skiing for a week at easter and staying on Maroon Dam. But we want to break up the week with a bit of 4wding.

Does anyone know of any good spots out Boonah, Maroon Dam, Rathdowney way???

Locations, tips, maps our anything would rock.

Spicers Gap (back of Lake Moogerah Dam)
Nice bit of driving up to the top and a really great lookout only 150mtrs to walk! I drove it in a stock jeep and got up there no problem. Plenty of 'when in doubt, power out!'.

Tho the track has deteriorated a lot since then. Quite loose when its dry and slippery when its wet. Plenty of maps etc you can find on it.

Jeepgirl,
Are you talking about the track from Moogerah dam up to Spicer's lookout OR the road from Spicer's Gap over to Cunningham's gap.
The first used to be a 2wd road. The 2nd used to be maintained by the Subaru club but I'm not sure if it is still open. They had a gate at each end which would be locked from time to time. In between were some good camping spots and it was always a good drive through there.
If there's water in the Condamine river that drive along the bottom of Queen Mary falls, with a dozen river/creek crossings, can be interesting. 'Been through there with water to top of headlights before. Basically its the Boonah to Killarney road, take the right fork instead of going up to Q M Falls.
cheers
