Default Best Off road Camper trailer for under 8k?

G'day all,
I'm looking at buying an off road camper trailer to tow behind this, my 3.8l 07 jku. I honestly have zero knowledge of them at present and would appreciate any advice on what you think is essential/desirable in a trailer around the 8k mark.

From what I've seen you may struggle to get a fully equiped off road camper at that price point. Sure there are some domestic style trailer conversions that are called off road but to get true long travel suspension and high riding for crossing water etc the ones that are designed for off road work cost a far bit more.

Go second hand there are so many good ones on the market. Most people buy one then realise they aren't using it as much as they thought they would.

If you are going new, the Black Series campers are good value.

Whatever you decide to do, stay away from MDC. They are nothing but trouble (both the camper and the company).

Unfortunately a lot of campers on the market are Chinese. They are exported over and then the Australian seller does a few mods and calls it Australian made. So just do a bit of homework on whatever brand you are looking at.

How off road do you want to go? My camper has leaf springs with a offroad Treg coupling and it goes everywhere I need it to. Unless you are doing major hardcore tracks you'd be surprised where a leaf spung trailer will go.

If you want to go really cheap, a box trailer with a treg coupling and a H frame to mount a roof top tent will get you to a lot of places.

I would choose Black Series campers. They are well built.
