OK, this saves me some effort in pictures.

Some yanks have proved my point. the JK body is NOT the place you want to be attaching any sort of body protection if you wheel hard.

PS: Below pics are of a 2 door fitted with PPM rocker sliders.

So yes the PPM protection is bloody strong but no the JK body is not.

Mind you the damage there if there'd been the Rubicon rock rail or none at all probably would have been epic.

Pretty much guarantee that is going to happen to any vehicle that has things bolted to side body panels as the metals pretty thin along there. Whether the Rubi rails would of faired any better is too hard to say unless you saw it happen. They might have just flexed and touched the panel as they are only bolted to the floorpan rather than side body panels so wouldn't have excerted direct force on the panels like the ones depicted. As I said I have whacked mine hard and apart from the rail brackets themselves bending they have coped well(slid off rocks and had both passenger side wheels dangling). Yes there are better sliders out there but for there design purpose they are not too bad if they come with the vehicle use them. If they don't maybe look elsewhere for something a little bit better value for money.

After driving the rubicon trail this weekend I can assure you the Poly sliders are bloody strong. The impacts varied from soft grazes to hard smashes and the body above on Daves truck is still fine.
I will post pics and videos when I'm back.

Ps: How jeep claim a jk let alone any other Jeep is Trail Rated is a joke, the trail we did there's no way a stocker would get through.
Didn't see a truck with smaller than 35s all weekend.
