Default O rings

Hi all, can anyone tell me if the “o” ring on the fuel pipe on the filter is the same size as the ones on the other fuel line connectors

I'm pretty sure all the low pressure fuel-line o-rings are the same.

Correct, and you need about 6 for a full set.

If you are just buying O-rings from a bearing shop, make sure you get Viton ones.

Just remember that these little devils are not the only source of air ingress.
Try and source the other o-rings before changing the filter, plus the drain plug with integral o-ring. Cheap enough at MB.
The only missing o-ring below is for the recirculating/air ejector valve (tee fitting for injector return).
And while you have the fuel lines broken, install a primer pump. An integrated prefilter with primer would be good, I have just a boat style squeeze bulb inline before the filter.

If you fit a CAV filter inline before the OE filter then replace the O rings, add new filter, reprime the line then you never have to stuff around with the thing again, as the CAV filter is easier to prime, cheaper and easier to change and you won't have to do the cumbersome priming of the original set up..... other than the EGR delete it was the best thing I did on mine.

As posted in Drovers 2.7 sticky thread...

One of the most interesting tid-bits I gleaned from that document is the fuel heater/recirc valve on the filter. Like many weird design elements, it is intended for sub-zero territory. It also includes a de-aerator function to remove bubbles.
Mine is just bypassed direct to tank to eliminate the bubbles from the fuel circuit, effectively breaking the loop.

There is a Daimler Chrysler training document floating around that is unfortunately only found in the Brazilian variety of Spanish/Portuguese.
Never mind that for us of the Inglese speaking variety... the download link below is for an English translated version:
