Made up a shovel mount using a pair of hood mounts for a lightbar that came with a light I bought.
Works well, but I'm concerned I'll get pinged by the constabulary for hanging the shovel and mounts on the hood, so I'm going to move the mounts to the tyre carrier where the Hi-lift usually sits, and move the hi-lift to a Uneek mount on the LH side.

Just installed Tuffy Security Tailgate enclosure. A very tight fit. Sub actually sounds much better as well.

From memory your hi-lift jack is mounted across the back of your spare? Is there enough room to secure the shovel on top of it?

I've got a jack mount off the tailgate hinge and the shovel is mounted on the jack with U bolts. maybe you could do similar to that but where you have the jack now.

I'd be more concerned in case of a head on or a freak accident and the thought of the shovel coming thru the windscreen.

Both above posts are good value.......I didn't think about combining the shovel with the hi-lift...not a bad idea. (bugger - just bought some steel to make a mount, lol)......although I can see a design forming in my head...cool.
I did think about things bolted on the hood (would never mount a Hi-lift there for that reason), and I'm happier with the shovel being moved to the rear for this reason, among others.

You can see in this pic how I've attached mine to the jack

Excellent mounting idea, will be mimicking this when I get the Morryde hi-lift jack mount installed, and eventually a hi-lift jack.
