Great feedback guys. I agree with Grahame that on looking at WA guidelines doesn't seem to be an issue that I can see.
Regarding air bag compliance I think you have to have crash cans eg.as per standard plastic and MOPAR black/chrome pipes bumper as others have mentioned (see front bumper round up thread...P23ish). On a JK's the airbag trigger is done via another device on the vehicle. True?
Re ADR ...I viewed and couldn't see a glaring issue. I little in "local interpretation".
I appreciate the photo JTO. I like that on the RR shorty you can add side end caps as needed. Also that if these were used off road and were damage it's only a flesh wound and easy to replace than sorting out a dent in your AEV or ARB style bar.

correct, SRS systems in australia are typically triggered by G sensors located in the passenger cabin.

That is, there are no sensors in the front chassis rails of our JKs.

In Qld they are most definately illegal and it is a common occurrence in SEQ for police to start sending people over the pits for defects such as 4" lift kits and running 37's.
