I remeber reading somewhere (can't remember where) these are on a continual powersupply from the battery independamt of the ignition. Does this mean if I leave my fridge in the back overnight or my GPS plugged into the centre console I am likely to end up with a flat battery in the morning.
A dual battery system is on the wish list but no $$$ for that at the moment.
Sorry if this seems like a pretty basic question. Just want to make sure I'm not left stranded anywhere with a flat battery in the morning.
Cheers,

mate if you're only doing short trips, go to supercheap and buy an sca jump start pack. they do a big one (1900 amp) which is like a 38a/h battery, with cig plugs, jumper leads and bright light for less than $200. i have one and use it as well as my dual battery system. it will keep your fridge running overnight, and then you can recharge it off your car next day, while running the fridge off your power outlet. not great, but it will work, and you have a jump start kit as well and an emergency light for home if the power goes off and a battery to run your fridge at home if the power goes off. i have a dc/ac coke can converter which i plug into mine and i can run my laptop and fridge and have a light as well when there are power failures. they are quite useful. i also use it to run my lapttop when camping.
