the water sensor has nothing to do with it, as the leak of fuel is due to the breaking of the fuel filter support head

Many thanks for your reply ... but need to get totally educated on this please.

I understand about how the leak occurs, but didn't realise the updated fuel filter unit 52126232AF is not a direct plugin replacement with the existing wiring on my 2007.... is that correct ? (Just re read your earlier post)
So I presume the existing old harness can be adapted with the new pigtail or is it essential to purchase a complete new harness ?
Got no issue with mine currently but have read about these issues and bought a new fuel separator to replace.

Having purchased this new unit earlier this year I thought the only issue was the water in fuel sensor as this is a different design also. The existing pigtail from my current main harness is not long enough to reach the new sensor and even if it did are the ends compatible ?
Again I presume the new harness 56055552AE you purchased over comes this issue ?
So if I'm getting this straight (eventually) even the above new harness requires updating with the thermostat pigtail 68043086AC ???
I'm I there yet ?
If so, this is turning out to be a pain in the arse and the pocket

The dealers are useless when it comes to essential detailed information such as this.

Many thanks (in advance)

then maybe I explained myself bad ....
you do not have to replace the old wiring with new harness 56055552AE but you have to buy only 68043086AC update wiring kit and connect it between your old wiring and the new update fuel filter unit 52126232AF

Ah so that clears up some confusion

So have you obtained this new pigtail yet and tried it in the fuel unit for fit ?

To confuse me even more
Just had a call from Jeep customer services Italy as I type and they tell me the 68043086AC pig tail is for extending the connection to the water in fuel sensor on the bottom of the filter !

They said if it wasn't correct get back to them ??????

when you buy the 52126232AF Fuel water separator filter housing for the well-known diesel leakage problem, you have to buy too the 68043086AC update wirink kit.

Hi Giacomo:

I have a 2011 JK CRD Rubicon and yesterday I had a huge leak from the fuel filter housing.

So to solve this issue I need to buy 52126232AF Fuel water separator filter housing and the 68043086AC update wiring kit?

The new fuel filter unit is plug & play if you just reuse the old sensor that screws in the bottom according to the Jeep tech at my local dealership.
Had one sitting there for the last 18 months but not got around to replacement, because the original on my CRD 2007 still OK (fingers crossed)
