Default WK2 Auxilary Tank

Just though that I would share with the forum that I have been talking to Long Range Automotive about an auxiliary fuel tank for the 2011/12 WK2 GC. I have agreed to lend them my jeep for a week so that they can develop a tank to suit. After a quick look under my Jeep, they are confident that they can give me another 85 litres of fuel capacity. They have booked it in for 3rd week of June. I'm tipping that there would be quite afew of you out there who would interested in the outcome. I will follow up when the time comes around.

Great post, thanks. Will watch with interest.
Given I'm getting such great deisel fuel economy 9l/100km, I'm now thinking a split tank or 2 x 1/2 tanks underneath. 1 for water, the other for extra deisel.
No spare cash at moment, but on the list.

Thanks for sharing this. Yes I'm interested though it will be a fair way out before I do it.

Do you know how they're thinking of doing it?

We fitted a LRA replacement subtank to our 03 Patrol and swapped it to our 06 Patrol, now replaced by our Wk2.
Over 270,000k of sometimes extremely rough roads and all sorts of conditions.
We found the tank a great bit of gear, well made and did the job perfectly.
Hope your new tank is as good.

Will it go down the side like the WH or do you lose the spare wheel inside the car?

In the discussions I had with them, they were talking about underneath at the rear. There's a big empty void infront of the towbar where I read on one forum was used in Europe for a smaller emergency type spare wheel.
