Hi Tom

Looks good BUT!!!!

What the angle of the belt on the back of the seats ?? Looks like you have gone straight down to the floor ? but the pictures dont telll the full story

It should be between approx +30 and -10 degrees the reason being in a bad accident the belts will apply force downwards how much is based on this angle if it is too steep you will crush the seat and your spine

Yes, you are correct. I have ordered the bar that will go behind the seat between the up rights of the roll bar. I will not be using them for daily driving, only for off roading. Once the bar is here the harness will be from 5 to 10 deg. above my shoulders. If the harness is attached to the floor in a high speed crash yes they could harm the user. In off roading I do not drive over 15 mph, so they are there for slow roll and slow speed restraint in the seat.

as said angles are important to obtain optimum saftey
nows heres the weird part they would be only legal for off road use from were i am from (something to do if you were trapped in a wreck it is harder to extract you from the wreck as there is a extra belt to cut)
me personaly like it
as a 5 point harness with wide lap belt section saved me from serious injury
when i rolled a offroad racer years ago

Seat belts 4 pt harness W/ OEM seat?

I am missing something here I am sure. I do not like this setup for either safety or protection when you might need it. This is the OEM chair yes? Please do not think I am criticising you for doing something on your vehicle, I am not. But this is not a safe setup. The tapes are not specified to be anchored so steeply nor are the chairs designed to work with tape channels where they are.

This forum, this entire ausjeep thing has really grown and evolved. Good on ya everyone!!!
