I actually own a 3 speed auto.....you know, the one with a 1:1 top gear, unlike EVERY other TJ & XJ which have overdrive top gears.

Mine has 285/70R17 tyres, which are a "big" 33. At 100kph, I am doing 2700 rpm in top gear. With 35s I suspect you will be doing about 2500rpm.

Have the manual & 4 speed auto drivers looked at their tachos at 100kph?

If you plan a lot of highway kms, I think 4.11:1s may be a good choice. If you don't do many h/way ks then 4.56:1 may be a good choice, but it wouldn't work for me.

well just got a quote on getting the ratios done. $2500 for bearings and labour to fit gears and carriers. (gears and carriers not quoted in that price) or $5000 with front and rear ARB's and me supplying the diff gears. what do ya think of those prices?

Thats a hell of alot. You should be able to get away with front / rear air lockers and supply of diff gears all installed for $5k. Do you your shopping.
