I've always given my cars names. I've met people who think I'm one fry short of a happy meal for naming my car, but I think it gives them personality. I have a black KJ we call Roach. Partly because cockroaches can survive anything, and partly because I have to scurry around on the tracks to avoid getting squashed by bigger 4x4s.
So I want to know who else out there names their car, and what made you choose that name.
I name only the special vehicles. Most of the time ill pick the name when I get the car and it will stick if I form an emotional attachment.
First car FJ40 - Boris
80 Series - Rowdy
Cherokee - Jethro
My youngest daughter gave my XJ the nickname of 'Ironhide' from the transformers.
After watching the film she said to me 'Daddy you are a weapons engineer right?' 'And you have a good 4wd so why don't you call it Ironhide as he is the transformers weapons guys that transforms into a big 4x4?'
Well I thought that was just brilliant so now I drive 'Ironhide' around. When he's running of course!
