Default Looking for a change
So Ive been in SA for the last 35years and am after a change. Im thinking about selling up and heading north for nicer weather and a change of scenery. Im a 15yr self employed earthmoving contractor/oilrig worker, but am looking to start a new life with wife and young family. Want to work less to spend more time with them before Im no longer cool and they want their own lives. Happy to work bar, tourism, or drive diggers still. I like Cape Trib as the weather is great, tropical lushness about the scrub. My first choice would be up in the Daintree off the grid somewhat but kids needing schools and a wife that likes shopping makes that a hard sell, where would you guys/girls recommend as a nice spot?? I could be tempted anywhere warm as far south as Coffs ish. Ill be looking in the $450-500K range for a house/small acreage.

Atherton tableland above Cairns is nice.....not quite as humid as the coast, yet not far from civilisation. Prices look to be around what you're thinking.

My brother is in Cape trib so that is part of the attraction with far north, and camping 4 wheeling and dirt biking are my chosen pastimes shopping is the wifes.
