the crd runs the yellow top. i think full charge is about 13.2 volts. 12.8 should give you a start. if the old one failed after driving for 6 hours, have you checked the charge rate with the engine running? if you don't get a charge rate of over 14 volts you could have an alternator problem.

I put in an Optima D34 (nearest to the original that I could find in Esperence at short notice) and have recharged. The charging voltage was in the normal range during the drive, according to the Scanguage I run on the Jeep.

work from the battery. make sure the terminals are TIGHT, as it could be a current issue. then, if a manual check the clutch switch is functioning. check all the fuses.

An auto electrician in esperence isnt gonna have a clue when it comes to a JK, he will only do the above.

Default No go

Have checked battery connections, voltage and wiering to starter motor. Can hot wire direct to starter motor and turns over, cannot start using key.
K10 Rel gets very hot. Tried swapping it over.
This is a manual.

i would suspect, (as as been mentioned) you check the clutch isolation switch, if you can hot wire direct to starter. also starter solenoid.

In 4 Lo the clutch isolation switch is bypassed. So if he selects 4 Lo and neutral then he should be able to start the Jeep if the switch is faulty. If it doesn't start then that's another thing eliminated.
