I forgot to have a good look while I was fitting my Trailhawk exhaust but appears the factory exhaust is 3" possibly right from the dump. So may be quite good from the factory other than the DPF restriction. Getting rid of that DPF would make it breath so much better. I just wonder with the electrickery on the Jeep whether it would throw a code once the DPF is removed. So would it drive ok until you got the remap?

I have removed the DPF on our Pathfinder before the Jeep and on my current Amarok. I think the advantage with the jeep is having the PID in torque for how full the DPF is as you wouldn't want to be near a regen cycle. Result would be white smoke everywhere and some unhappy drivers behind you. I know the pathfinder crowd were having trouble when their DPF's crapped themselves they couldn't just go fit a delete pipe. The Dealer had to force a regen or replace the DPF before they could fit the delete pipe to be able to clear the code. On the pathfinder running the delete pipe and back exhaust was fine but once doing the dump and cat replacement I had to fit recalibrated temp sensors and loop the pressure sensors so it would not regen. Other option was a remap to turn it off but I already had a Unichip so was not an option

Amarok wasn't too much of an issue. Fitted full turbo back then drove around all weekend before getting tune on the Monday. I suppose realistically the computer should just think the DPF is clean but not sure.

With the amount of black soot in the xhaust showing on those vids above, you probably would not want the DPF in place.

Certainly no positives in keeping DPF, EGR, or CCV systems in place. They all conspire to kill the engine and are almost an afterthought by the manufacturers.
