Sounds about right..
I think you might need more than 2 ltrs, as the moving parts are all inside
the block, none go below the sump gasket line, there is a windage tray
there, I have rebuilt one of these motors on my WK2

Interesting, probably a subject for another thread or you may have already posted the details but I'd be interested in your rebuild observations. I've rebuilt a few petrol engines but nothing like this VM Motori diesel.

I have one main observation, buy your parts from USA, save 300% and still
genuine Jeep... lol
