Im not having a go at you guys, but I think common sense yeilds overall right of way, if you set rules you sort of become like the government, you know what blanketing rules do to things

If you are observant, you will notice that in real life the little one gives way to big one, nearly every time. Trying to state rules on the internet doesnt do F-all. The smaller 4wd will naturally feel slightly more intimidted by the larger 4wd heading towards them and pull over before the larger 4wd gets similar feelings of intimidation. Im not a psycologist but im pretty sure thats what happens. Take me and spambulance for example, if we were heading directly towards each other, the little tj will pull over and let me through before i feel the need to pull over. Ask yourselfs this; have you ever pulled over to let a on comming dirt bike pass?

Little one gives way to big one!

sierra gives way to tj, tj gives way to zj.

for those who gave constructive criticism thanks, being a relative newbie, was trying to educate myself on what would be "the norm" or accepted way to approach a situation, but of course every situation is different and you wouldnt sit there on the trail and refuse to move because you felt it was your right of way or whatever, the safest option for both vehicles would obviously be overriding factor...having said that, for those cretins who always like a piss take as opposed to constructive advice, just confirms my theory that there are way too many tools driving Jeeps these days, like I give a XXXX....and yes that was a dig at the banana bender....

When a Proper Young Lady finds herself on a steep accent, then finds an eligable Gentleman on a decent of the same path, common sense should rule the decission of passage, and whom has right of way. Either party may pull to the side of the track if they have a space close to them, the persons whose carriage is in the most perilious prediciment obviously is afforded "Right of way" , if the is no impass, and the blockade is unavoidable, again common sense would suggest that if the Proper Young Lady is herself already somewhat at a struggle going in a forwards direction up the accent, to expect an Eligable Gentleperson to attempt to reverse up the same slope would seem uncharitable, and she should reverse decend her path.

Likewise if a Proper Young Lady finds that she has dropped a wheel into a runt from which she is unable to extract herself, it is generally considered appropriate for her to accept an offer for a good winching from a passer by, providing she has the nessecary scones and tea at the ready as payment for services rendered.
Cmohr - no more watching that 'Australian Princess' show for you....

1. Whoever has the closest/easiest/safest place to pull off.
2. Single width flatish tracks; Vehicles in the smaler convoy pull off. (I.e. 2 Vehicles give way to the 5 coming the other way)

If neither match above;
Sandy Track; Person heading down hill should pull off where possible. On Sand it's much easier to start going down again, then it is to start going up.
Dirt/Muddy track; Person Heading up should try move off the track to a suitable location. Navigated if need be. It's easier to reverse down hill then it is to reverse uphill.

By no means are these any hard and fast set rules. Just what I follow usually and in discussions what many others have agreed upon over various campfires.
