Went to Altapac for a quote to have them apply matt black wrap on the bonnet as I'm trying to cut down the reflections from the light bar.

I was told the average bonnet costs $450 but due to the shape of the JK, it will probably be more as it's contoured.

I thanked them for their time and walked out.

Is your bar roof mounted?

I'm very tempted to roof mount but between bonnet reflections and wind noise/turbulence it seems more trouble than it's worth...?

Yep it's roof mounted. I love mine and although the reflections on my white bonnet are a bit of a pain it's not on all the time so I can live with it. It's not $450 worth of a problem

Wind turbulence is easy fixed. A strip of u shaped rubber (Pinch rubber)from Clark Rubber (about $12) fixes that easily.

Have you considered some matte black plastidip? If you don't like it, you can just peel it off and a lot less than $450.

I hadn't until I got that quote from Altapac!

I've got a matte black vinyl decal that covers the middle of the bonnet and that helps a lot. I mainly use the lightbar on the beach at night when fishing or camping so it's not on for great lengths of time anyway.

I was expecting around $200 for the wrap which I was quite willing to pay but $450+ isn't worth it. That kind of money is better put towards some decent rock sliders.

What part of a JK bonnet is "contoured" except for the hinge mounts?
