Wink Torq Masters -Torq Locker

Hi all,
I am planning to fit a Torq Locker to my 2009 JKu Dana 30.I would like some feed back from people who are using drop in lockers,especially long term users.
Also whether using sleeves,gussets and chromoly axle shafts.Rear axle has Eaton E Locker.thanks.

I have used Aussie Lockers before in front, front/rear and rear configurations (not in my JK though). Personally I would never use one in the front again.

Turning in high grip(rock) or low grip was difficult. Low grip(mud) it just tended to push the front and not turn. High grip was harsh on steering components and took some hanging off the wheel(no power steer).

I would try go for a LSD if a e/air locker is out of the price range.

/Quick edit. A trutrack LSD is not much more than a Torq locker.. I use one, it works well.

Agreed... an auto locker in the front sucks. I had Detroit lockers front and rear in my TJ so essentially the front locker engaged as soon as you had it in 4wd.

My JK has an e-locker in the front and so far it works much better.

The auto locker in the rear was fine once you learned to manage it with the clutch.

I've tried a auto locker in the rear of my JK after having great success with them in prev 4wds. It was horrible, I had extremely loud bangs at random times ALL the time. This included when cruising in 6th gear at 110kmh in a straight line. Every time it would bang it would try and steer the JK from the rear and if not paying attention I would end up on the other side of the road.

I've had auto lockers in the rear before, with no prob whatsover, including installing them myself. All same brand too by 4wd Systems in South Aust. This last locker was installed by a reputable workshop, I pulled the diff cover and checked the tolernaces myself, and I went back and had them recheck the tolerances etc as well, everything seemed within spec but they swapped the shims anyway to loosen it up a little but no improvement. In the end I had it swapped out for a e-locker.

I have no experience with a auto locker in the front, but judging by what others have said I wouldn't do it. Selectable or tight LSD is the way to go.
