I'm interested as to why you ask?

I have a 2016 JKU Sport in a Manual, picked up from the dealer on the 1st of July 2016 from memory. So far we have only put a shade over 20,000kms on it in, mostly local driving to work, daycare, etc.

Servicing has been fine, and haven't had anything break, so it's pretty much so far so good I guess. I have been getting it serviced at Northern Motor Group in Bundoora VIC.

I ask because:

1. From 2014 to 2016 in Australia Jeep has had a poor reputation for service.

2. I am considering getting a JLU Sport in early 2019

From day 0 to sometime in 2025 Jeep Australia has had a poor reputation for service.

The first words uttered by a civilisation developing speech for the first time was "damn stealers"

FC Australia have always had a poor reputation for service but that doesn't mean any Jeep made before 2016 is unreliable.

My 2011 JKU Wrangler has been more reliable than any of my other 4WDs including the Toyotas I've had.

There are two Jeep dealers near where I live. My brother in law has had Jeeps for years now and he was going to the one closest to him, but furthest from me. He was not happy with them at all. So a few years ago he started going to the one that I bought my new Wrangler from recently. With his previous GC, the body computer crapped itself when it was 8 months out of warranty, and these guys looked after him and replaced it without a hassle, even thought he'd bought it from the other dealer! He said the difference between the two service centers was night and day. Just glad that the good one is also the closest one to me

Yes, I bought a new JKU Petrol 3.6 Pentastar in 2016 with the Uconnect, side steps etc, it has performed flawlessly. The steeler that I purchased it from, went outa business a short time later and shut down. I breathed a sigh of relief for not taking out extended warranty.

I take my car to a different stealer which is closer to home (over an hour's drive), and they have so far handled two recalls (driver and pax takata airbag sheeeat) as well as regular servicing. Very efficient.

However, I also have had an XJ cherokee for 23 years since new, and I can tell you that I moved around to three different stealers for servicing. Each stealer had very good head mechanics and reputation in the early days, and any problem was solved the first time. As each stealership was bought out, you could see that the mechanics that replaced the original crews were completely clueless about cars in general, as well as parts.

One stealership in an undisclosed location had wall to wall frames holding certificates of some sort or another (about their Jeep quals and accreditation), and these were clearly obtained from the back of a Cornflakes packet. I kept taking the car back again and again for what were very minor but persistent problems that should have been fixed the first time. e.g. rear main seal part ordered incorrectly .. drove home after "service" with oil gushing out etc. Car went back on a table top truck - more days of work lost for no reason etc.

My XJ is now looked after by a very good local mechanic, but the JKU will keep going to the stealer for as long as their service team continue to do their job. If they don't do their job, my local mechanic will have an extra car to service unless it is a warranty issue.
